Job Title: Apprentice Chef

Hourly Rate: £12.71

Location: Twycross Zoo, Burton Road, Atherstone, CV9 3PX

Reporting to: Head Chef

Hours/Working Pattern: 30 hours per week (4 days over 7)

About the Role

We’re currently recruiting for an ambitious Apprentice Chef to join our team and help deliver exceptional experiences for Twycross Zoo on a part‑time basis, contracted to 30 hours per week. As an Apprentice Chef, you will work alongside a passionate and supportive team, gaining hands‑on experience while developing your skills through structured training. No prior experience is required as full training will be provided as part of the apprenticeship. On completion of the apprenticeship, you will achieve the Commis Chef L2 qualification and become a qualified Chef.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing a variety of foods across the retail establishments and restaurant at Twycross Zoo.
  • Safe handling of food.
  • Maintaining high standards in the kitchen.
  • Learn and apply professional kitchen health, safety and food hygiene standards, helping to create a safe environment for both colleagues and customers.
