The Role

30 hours per week / 5 days per week / Monday to Friday. All year round. 26–31 days annual leave per year (dependent on years of service).

Location: The Dormston School, Mill Bank, Dudley, West Midlands, DY3 1SN.

Required as soon as possible, we are looking for a Caretaker to join our busy and vibrant site team. You will work under the direct supervision of the Site Manager.

The main hours for this role will fit within a 6.00am – 6.00pm timeframe with the predominant shift pattern 11.30am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday during term times. Shift patterns during school holidays will change depending on the needs of the service and other shift patterns required where absences need covering. Occasional evenings and call outs for lettings and building issues may be required for which overtime will be paid.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a wide range of duties related to the fabric and security of the school.
  • Maintain building and facilities, spotting maintenance issues.
  • Support the site manager and ensure smooth operation.
  • Provide assistance with lettings and building issues.
  • Attend to emergency calls and incidents.

Qualifications & requirements

  • Medical clearance.
  • Enhanced DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Availability for shift patterns described.
