Contract and working hours
- Contract Type: Permanent, Part‑time
- Hours per week: 20 hours total – TA 15 hrs, MDSA 5 hrs
- Weeks per year: 38 weeks (term time, excluding term‑time days)
- Annual salary (FTE): Teaching Assistant £25,185‑£25,989; Mid‑day Supervisory Assistant £24,796
- Actual salary: TA £8,556‑£8,830; MDSA £2,808
- Working pattern: TA – Mon‑Fri 8:30 am–11:30 am; MDSA – Mon‑Fri 12:00 pm–1:00 pm
Job Summary
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and reliable individual to undertake a combined Teaching Assistant and Midday Supervisory Assistant role. The successful candidate will support pupils’ learning and development in the classroom, working closely with teachers to help children achieve their full potential. In addition, they will supervise and support pupils during the lunchtime period, helping to ensure a safe, positive and enjoyable environment. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to promoting children’s wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils’ learning and development in classroom activities under the direction of teachers.
- Assist with planning, preparation and assessment of lessons as needed.
- Supervise and support pupils during the lunchtime period, ensuring a safe and positive environment.
- Observe and report on pupils’ behaviour and wellbeing to senior staff.
- Maintain a cheerful, supportive and professional presence throughout the school day.
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to meet individual learning needs.
