Teaching Assistant – KS1 – Wigan – Full-Time – ASAP Start

We are currently seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive KS1 team at a well-regarded primary school in Wigan. This is a full-time role starting ASAP, ideal for someone who is passionate about education and child development.

Your Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Work closely with the class teacher to support daily teaching and learning
• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils who need additional help
• Assist with phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy activities
• Help maintain a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment
• Contribute positively to the wider school community

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting, ideally within KS1
• A calm, patient, and supportive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• A proactive attitude and commitment to supporting children’s development
