Technical Instructor – Art
Location: Nottingham, ENG, GB. Full‑time (up to 0.8 FTE, part‑time options available). Salary: £25,256 to £26,348 per annum (pro‑rata for term time or part‑time).
Role Overview
As a Technical Instructor in the Art Department, you will manage workshop spaces, maintain equipment, order materials, and deliver workshops and inductions to students across all levels. You will also support end‑of‑year show preparations, external exhibitions and live projects.
Responsibilities
- Maintain health & safety and servicing of specialist machinery.
- Order and manage workshop materials.
- Prepare and deliver workshops and inductions to small student groups.
- Support manual handling and physical work for exhibitions and projects.
Specialisms & Skills
- Digital technician (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, 3D design and printing software)
- Textile technician
- Ceramics technician
- General Art and Design technician (cross‑specialism)
Qualifications
- Proficiency in the relevant digital software and/or practical experience in the above specialisms.
