Position Overview
As a Driver Trainer, you will coordinate and deliver training for Transportation Associate Program (TAP) and In‑House Shunting (IHS) drivers in the UK. E2E Field Learning Excellence seeks a Driver Trainer with a proven track record in learning and development, supporting the learning journey of TAP/IHS drivers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Shunter Driver Training, both practical and classroom sessions.
- Liaise with local site teams—learning, HR, safety, engineering, and TOM—to deliver training.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders—operations, safety, HR, and learning.
- Audit metrics such as safety, quality, and process across sites.
- Train and coach associates to become ambassadors who deliver coaching and training to local teams.
- Deliver yard‑based training covering yard access, vehicle charging, and basic maintenance.
- Update and maintain accurate training records.
A Day in the Life
You will deliver both on‑site onboarding and practical driving training, with ongoing over‑the‑road support. The role is based in a regional cluster but requires some UK travel to support other regions.
About the Team
The TAP Learning team is a nationwide team that manages end‑to‑end training for all drivers in the Transportation Associate Programme. We work with internal and external partners to provide 7‑day‑a‑week coverage, accelerating drivers’ training journeys and paths to proficiency.
Basic Qualifications
- High‑school diploma or equivalent.
- Flexible schedule/shift availability, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- Ability to lift up to 49 pounds, stand or walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week and overtime as required.
- Advanced proficiency in English (written and verbal, C1 CEFR).
- Valid C+E license and driver qualification card.
- Experience communicating and delivering presentations to customers, stakeholders, and/or teammates.
- Experience operating as a commercial HGV driver.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a driver trainer.
- Knowledge of UK driving licences and training pathways.
