Job Overview

Monday – Friday role – 08:00 – 16:30.

Protect customers’ property, people, and assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the site’s published Assignment Instructions (AIs) and any subsequent changes. Deliver results that meet or exceed the key performance indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer, ensuring full responsibility and accountability to aid in the retention of the contract.

Main Duties

  • Ensure compliance with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and UK law.
  • Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published AIs.
  • Review and refer to the published AIs, suggesting amendments that will improve or enhance the current level of service.
  • Maintain and wear the required front‑line licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) at all times.
  • Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
  • Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
  • Work systematically, methodically, and orderly.

Training

  • Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
  • Undertake additional training as directed by the Security Account Manager to ensure continuous self‑development.
  • Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through continual professional development.
  • Renew the licence 16 weeks before expiry.

Security and Health & Safety

  • Look out for and immediately report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
  • Stay alert to threats or changes in the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
  • Use common sense and initiative, immediately involving others if a situation appears threatening.
  • Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
  • Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry after any incident for use in the Incident Report process.
  • Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
  • Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the AIs.
  • Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.

Qualifications

  • Previous security experience.
  • Valid SIA licence.
  • SC clearance desirable / CT screening.
