Salary: £93+ per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education Kent is seeking a kind and understanding SEN Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing specialist school in Tonbridge. The role supports pupils aged 3 to 19 with complex needs, including severe and profound learning disabilities, autism, and related medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small group support under the guidance of teaching staff.
• Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and individual learning plans.
• Support students with communication, behavior, personal care, and sensory needs.
• Encourage the development of independence and life skills.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND in a school or care setting.
• Calm, resilient, and caring attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

This role requires a strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection. Successful applicants must satisfy all background recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS certificate.
