About the Role
UGOBus Driver – permanent part‑time position working 25 hours per week during term time only. Salary £25,959 per annum full‑time equivalent. Working style: fixed‑base worker. Location: Colchester. This role provides tailored, accessible transport for businesses, residents and public‑sector organisations across Essex using a modern fleet of minibuses.
Responsibilities
Support a diverse range of passengers from students and young people to older adults and individuals with disabilities or special educational needs. Keep the service professional, compassionate and positive. Drive safely and uphold the standards of the fleet.
Shift Pattern
All UGO Bus drivers work to a split‑shift pattern. A typical split shift may include:
- Morning: 7.30am – 10.00am
- Afternoon: 2.30pm – 5.00pm
What We’re Looking For
- Hold a current driving licence with D1 entitlement – essential for driving our accessible minibuses.
- Experience working with customers from a wide range of backgrounds and needs.
- Understand the importance of flexibility and can adapt to shifting demands.
- Stay calm and professional under pressure.
- Confident using a smartphone or tablet.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in customer‑facing environments.
If successful, you will complete an enhanced DBS check, pass an ECC minibus driver assessment and attend mandatory training – including MiDAS and First Aid.
