What is the job role?

Required for September 2026

Grange Farm Primary School has an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our Admin Team.

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, self‑motivated individual who has strong administrative and business skills. The person appointed will work under the direction of the School Business Manager and will provide all‑round administrative support to the School, including meeting and greeting parents and other customers, processing financial transactions, assisting with financial year‑end procedures and inputting data. This is a varied and enjoyable role, for the right person. Experience of school office procedures is essential.

The hours of work will be 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., Monday to Friday, term time only with 5 Teacher Training days and 5 days to be worked during School holiday periods (usually towards the end of the Summer holiday). The working hour start time is non‑negotiable.

Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are required to deal with members of our School community, in a professional, friendly and efficient manner.

We offer:

  • Commitment to your professional development.
  • A friendly School with a strong community spirit.
  • Well‑mannered and hardworking pupils.
  • A School that ensures staff wellbeing is important.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed – please contact our School office to arrange this. Alternatively, we are happy to organise a telephone conversation with the Headteacher or School Business Manager.

Grange Farm is committed to safeguarding our children and all appointments will be subject to satisfactory references and appropriate checks.

Please note that this is a term time only role and annual leave is

not permitted to be taken during the working weeks of this role.

Who are we looking for?

The successful applicant will have experience of using computerised financial management systems. Experience of working in a busy office environment would be an advantage, as would experience of dealing with a wide range of customers.

Our workforce data shows that men and people from minority ethnic backgrounds are under‑represented, we encourage applicants from these backgrounds to apply. This does not prevent individuals with or without other protected characteristics as set out within the Equality Act 2010 from applying for this post.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS, all relevant safeguarding and pre‑employment clearances, and the receipt of two satisfactory references.
