Collection & Delivery Driver

Make a difference every day by supporting our retail shops and local community. We are looking for a reliable, customer-focused Collection & Delivery Driver to provide a safe, efficient and professional collection and delivery service across our retail network.

In this varied and rewarding role, you will collect donated goods and furniture from supporters’ homes, deliver stock and donations between our shops and other designated locations, and play a vital part in helping our retail operations generate income to support the Charity’s work.

You will be responsible for driving Charity vehicles and, where appropriate, your own vehicle, ensuring all collections and deliveries are completed safely, legally and in line with Charity policies and procedures. As one of the Charity’s ambassadors, you will provide excellent customer service to donors, colleagues and members of the community, creating positive experiences that encourage ongoing support.

This is a bank position and shifts would be agreed on an as and when basis.

Physical Requirements

This role includes manual handling activities, frequent vehicle entry and exit, and the movement of goods. Applicants should be able to undertake these tasks safely and effectively. We are committed to making reasonable adjustments for disabled candidates and employees where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect donated furniture, goods and stock from supporters and designated locations.
  • Deliver stock and donations between Charity shops and other sites as required.
  • Load, unload and handle items safely and efficiently.
  • Provide a courteous, professional and customer-focused service at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of collections and deliveries.
  • Ensure vehicles are operated safely and kept clean and roadworthy.
  • Comply with all relevant legislation, health and safety requirements, and Charity policies.

  • Ability to undertake manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving furniture and donated goods.
