Pay & Hours

Rate of pay starts from £14.18 an hour; £15.45 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.

New colleagues are offered a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with the option to work as few as 12 hours.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the van and trays are clean and tidy.
• Leaving the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish, picking up litter as seen.
• Washing trays as part of the tray wash process.
• Loading the van, checking it for roadworthiness.
• Talking to the customer about changes to their order, including short‑code item and substitutions, and offering refunds for issues.
• Taking care of products and deliveries as if they were your own.
• Explaining to the customer that they will not be charged for substitution items.
• Delivering during the customers’ time slot.
• Calling the customer before arriving at their property if early.
• Calling the store or centre if running 30 or more minutes late.
• Building relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and support each other.
• Being warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand them and saying ‘Thank you’.
• Acting quickly to respond to changing customer needs and embracing change within the store.
• Being energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, integrating home and work for a suitable balance.
• Sharing ideas with managers and colleagues on how to improve the store for customers.

Qualifications

• A UK/EU/EEA driving licence (Full or Automatic only) held for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Ability to adhere to the GB Domestic Driving Rules.

Additional Requirements

Only candidates over the age of 18 may be considered if the role requires working before 6:15 am, after 9:45 pm, or in areas such as the warehouse, beer, wine, spirits, counters, bakery, or driving roles.
