Hassell Primary School – Teaching Assistant SEND Support

Hours: 27.5 hrs per week (term time only contract, temporary until July 21, 2027 or until pupil leaves and no funding available). Salary: £23,450 per annum.

To assist and support the teaching, learning and wellbeing of children with SEND needs, particularly a child who has an Education Health Care Plan. The role is in Key Stage 2, Year 6. The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCo, class teachers and the wider team to create a supportive, safe and structured environment for the child.

Responsibilities

  • Support inclusion by enabling the child to access learning, socialising and play opportunities.
  • Undertake learning activities and adapt them according to the child’s needs.
  • Develop positive and nurturing relationships.
  • Support with personal care.
  • Work under the direction of teaching staff and the SENCo.
  • Maintain accurate records of the pupil’s progress against their targets.
  • Communicate effectively with parents.
