Job Overview
We are seeking a strong, adaptable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support learning across whole classes and work closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The role also includes responsibilities as a Midday Meal Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils with EHCPs and other additional learning needs within the classroom setting (32.5 hours per week, LSA hours 8.30‑3.30 pm, half‑hour unpaid lunch break, term time only).
- Assist the class teacher and SENCo in providing high‑quality support that enables all pupils to achieve their full potential academically and socially.
- Supervise and support children during midday meals.
- Help plan and organise classroom activities and learning environments.
- Participate in training and other learning activities as required, including first‑aid training.
- Follow all school policies, particularly Safeguarding, Behaviour and KCSIE.

Qualifications and Experience
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills with a secure understanding of early reading and phonics.
- Good working knowledge of supporting pupils with language and communication needs, social communication difficulties, cognition and learning needs, and the development of social skills.
- Experience working with children with SEN is desirable and experience in a mainstream educational setting is essential.
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, aspiring teacher or recent graduate who can progress towards teacher training.
