Our client is Asia’s leading digital asset firm, operating at the intersection of institutional finance and crypto markets. Technology is central to what they do. The Belfast engineering team works on the systems that power their trading, operations, and risk infrastructure. It is a small, senior team with a flat structure, high-trust culture, and a genuine focus on long-term career development.
The Role
This is a hands-on engineering position for someone who wants to work on genuinely complex, mission-critical software. You will develop tools, reports, and data feeds for trading, operations, and risk teams, collaborating directly with Heads of Business and front-office stakeholders. You will take real ownership of what you build and contribute to technology initiatives as the business evolves. Your voice will carry weight here. This is not a large team where good work disappears.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop tools, reports, and data feeds to meet the needs of trading, operations, and risk teams
- Take ownership of software quality end-to-end
- Collaborate closely with Heads of Business and front-office teams to implement and maintain critical systems
- Contribute to company-wide technology initiatives as business and operational goals evolve
What You’ll Need
Essential:
- 1+ years of experience in a technical engineering role
- Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in a relevant field from a strong university
- Solid Computer Science fundamentals… you understand what is happening under the hood
- Experience working in cloud environments (AWS or other major platforms)
- Right to work in the UK
Nice to Have:
- Extensive Java experience, ideally including Spring Boot
- Background in fintech, trading systems, or high-stakes production environments
- AWS certification
