CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Facilities Management Director to manage one of our largest financial services clients, specifically their new flagship headquarters in London Canary Wharf, a building comprising critical infrastructure and high‑profile client‑facing areas that will go live in mid‑2026. The FM Director will be responsible for mobilising FM services, working closely with the mobilisation team, FM and engineering teams, and will oversee operational delivery and commercial performance, manage customer relationships, and act as a trusted advisor to our client and account leadership for the UK&I portfolio.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Understand client objectives and business strategy and develop strategic plans to meet these needs.
- Manage all CBRE service lines, including soft and hard services, ensuring compliance with the contract and all relevant standards, statutes, and legislation.
- Act as a trusted partner and advisor to the client and support cross‑regional alignment on best practice, strategy, risk mitigation, and operational deliverables.
- Ensure prompt and professional response to client escalations.
- Accountable for the successful and timely delivery of CBRE scope of work across all FM services for UK&I sites.
- Ensure KPIs and SLAs are achieved, focusing on critical infrastructure and uptime.
- Interrogate performance metrics and use data to manage effectively against the contract.
- Work with SMEs to understand, communicate, and address risks, defects, and issues.
- Ensure the Innovation and Continuous Improvement process is integral to service delivery, adding value to both the business and the client.
- Responsible for compliance with all QHSE and relevant company and client policies.
- Oversee portfolio changes and project works, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure effective implementation.
- Accountable for timely and accurate financial planning and ongoing financial performance.
- Provide required client and company reporting in a timely manner.
- Facilitate cross‑regional communication and serve as a member of the Senior Management Team in UK&I.
- Provide leadership and management to direct reports and other stakeholders.
- Ensure team development and training for a competent and motivated team.
- Provide local oversight of vendor management activities, liaising closely with CBRE stakeholders.
- Engage with external social and community committees, building excellent relationships and acting as a focal point for corporate real‑estate services.
- Promote effective working relationships across all stakeholders, supporting the fully integrated model.
- Identify operational and commercial risks and opportunities, taking required actions.
Education
- Degree level or equivalent.
- Membership of a recognised professional institution.
- Project management experience within the building services and real‑estate sector.
Skills
- Strong PC skills, MS Office.
- Self‑motivated and resourceful.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills.
- Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.

Knowledge
- Knowledge of hard and soft services, including critical engineering environments, loading bay management, facility management, workplace/community managers, etc.
- Knowledge of Smart FM / Intelligent Buildings, their use cases, and application in facilities management.
Experience
- At least 10 years of FM experience as a senior manager, ideally with a global organisation in the financial and professional services sector.
- A successful record of operating at a strategic level, building strong client relationships, and delivering financial business targets.
- Experience managing fully integrated FM, including hard and soft services.
- Experience managing direct reports in a relevant environment.
- Customer services experience and ability to communicate at all levels.
- Proven account management experience, including full P&L responsibility.
Aptitude
- Positive and proactive approach, able to work on own initiative and as part of a large account team.
- Willingness to provide on‑call support out of hours and manage a 24×7 operational capability with vendors.
- Self‑motivated and goal‑oriented, with ability to prioritise own and others’ workloads.
