About The Role

Full‑time, 37 hours per week (flexibility available, part‑time considered). Permanent. Salary from £72,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a car allowance and bonus. Hybrid working with office location at Pity Me, Durham.

We are recruiting Strategic Programme Leads for the Water, Wastewater and WINEP portfolios of Northumbrian Water Group.

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Head of PMO, you will:

  • Work across multiple teams – Strategic Planning, Tactical Planning, Regulation, Environment, Customer, Communications and Assets Design & Construction – to ensure the Programme is delivered on time, within budget and meets all scope requirements.
  • Document, clarify and communicate programme strategic requirements, objectives, drivers, benefits and outcomes to delivery teams, ensuring the portfolio aligns with all required objectives.
  • Own and lead the collating of reporting information for the portfolio, working with the PMO reporting team.
  • Manage Issues, Risk & Opportunity at the portfolio level and identify programme‑level efficiency opportunities.
  • Ensure robust Project Controls are in place across multiple delivery vehicles.
  • Prioritise in‑AMP delivery, with a secondary focus on preparations for the next AMP.

About You

  • Experienced project delivery professional with strong stakeholder management capabilities, capable of working in high complexity and delivering results.
  • Able to operate within a complex, multi‑regulator environment with multiple directors and teams working together.
  • Skilled in managing external stakeholder meetings and maintaining external change control aligned with internal change control.
  • Proficient in handling large volumes of data, understanding context, spotting problems and engaging subject‑matter experts to resolve issues.
  • Capable of leading a programme – setting baselines, monitoring and controlling performance across Scope, Cost, Schedule, Risk, Opportunity, Issue and Change Control.
