WSP is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Senior Roads Engineer to join the Roads team based in Scotland.

The team delivers highway consultancy services to support clients through all stages of the project life‑cycle from feasibility and concept design through to planning, detailed design, and construction.

We are recruiting to add to the team working on the Performance Audit Group (PAG). PAG is an independent private sector organisation employed by Transport Scotland, which monitors the performance of the Operating Companies. The role is to undertake on‑site and office auditing, monitoring, assessment and verification of measured quantities and technical compliance with contracts, processes and standards.

Key Tasks Include

  • Review, audit and monitor on‑site works and associated records and report on compliance with contract documentation and good working practices.
  • Review, audit and monitor on‑site works and associated records and report on the veracity of suppliers’ request for payments.
  • Provide information for the employer’s responses to disputed contractual issues.
  • Be fully conversant with and understand the relevant supplier contracts.

Qualifications

  • Incorporated Engineer or Graduate Engineer with significant experience.
  • HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent with comprehensive experience.
  • Extensive relevant experience.
  • Specified level of experience in both on‑site and office assessment and verification of measured quantities and compliance with contracts, processes and standards.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of maintenance and construction works associated with the construction, management and maintenance of a roads network.
