Senior Manager, Contracts

Hybrid role based in Plymouth, United Kingdom. Lead and develop a dynamic Contracts team to drive commercial outcomes and continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team of Contracts professionals and align their work with business goals.
• Own, develop, and implement policies, procedures, and processes for the Contracts function.
• Identify and monitor key performance indicators, analysing results to drive performance.
• Participate in front‑end assessments of proposals, summarising contractual issues and compliance matters.
• Research regulations, identify risks, and formulate recommendations to mitigate exposure.
• Lead or oversee proposal development, reviewing contractual terms for acceptability and compliance.
• Secure management approval for proposals and support customer closures when contractual challenges arise.
• Enhance the Contracts Program in partnership with the Central Contracts Team.
• Lead talent development activities for contracts associates across the business.
• Coordinate across business units on contract or proposal issues affecting multiple SBUs.
• Support audit and customer requests relating to contracts.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing high‑performing teams in a similar role.
• Strong commercial awareness and business acumen, able to balance risk, opportunity, and objectives.
• Excellent relationship‑building and influencing skills with a track record of stakeholder management.
• Ability to represent the Contracts function across the wider business and engage senior leadership.
• Industry knowledge and experience are advantageous.
• Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in a Contracts environment. Certifications are a plus.
