Senior Manager, Contracts
Hybrid role based in Plymouth, United Kingdom. Lead and develop a dynamic Contracts team to drive commercial outcomes and continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Contracts professionals and align their work with business goals.
- Own, develop, and implement policies, procedures, and processes for the Contracts function.
- Identify and monitor key performance indicators, analysing results to drive performance.
- Participate in front‑end assessments of proposals, summarising contractual issues and compliance matters.
- Research regulations, identify risks, and formulate recommendations to mitigate exposure.
- Lead or oversee proposal development, reviewing contractual terms for acceptability and compliance.
- Secure management approval for proposals and support customer closures when contractual challenges arise.
- Enhance the Contracts Program in partnership with the Central Contracts Team.
- Lead talent development activities for contracts associates across the business.
- Coordinate across business units on contract or proposal issues affecting multiple SBUs.
- Support audit and customer requests relating to contracts.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing high‑performing teams in a similar role.
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen, able to balance risk, opportunity, and objectives.
- Excellent relationship‑building and influencing skills with a track record of stakeholder management.
- Ability to represent the Contracts function across the wider business and engage senior leadership.
- Industry knowledge and experience are advantageous.
- Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in a Contracts environment. Certifications are a plus.
