Test Manager

Overview

A leading consultancy organisation is searching for an experienced Technical QA Lead / Test Manager to lead the quality engineering capability across a large-scale digital transformation programme.

This is a hands‑on technical leadership role where you’ll define and implement an automation‑first testing strategy, drive AI‑enabled QA practices, and work closely with Engineering, DevOps and Product teams to improve quality, speed and delivery across complex enterprise platforms.

Technical Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience within QA / Test Engineering
• Proven experience as a Technical QA Lead, Test Manager or QA Manager
• Strong experience designing and implementing automation‑first testing strategies
• Hands‑on experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress or similar automation frameworks
• API and microservices testing experience
• Strong understanding of test framework architecture and design
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD platforms
• Strong knowledge of Agile, DevOps and modern SDLC practices
• Experience improving automated test pipelines and continuous testing
• Understanding of parallel execution, environment management and release assurance
• Experience implementing quality governance and risk‑based testing
• Strong stakeholder management across Engineering, Product and DevOps teams
• Experience mentoring and developing QA Engineers
• Exposure to AI‑driven testing, test generation or AI‑assisted QA tools (desirable)
• Experience delivering within large‑scale digital transformation programmes

Role & Responsibilities

• Define and lead the overall QA and Test Engineering strategy
• Drive automation‑first and AI‑enabled testing across enterprise applications
• Own and evolve automation frameworks across web, mobile, APIs and backend services
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and enable continuous testing
• Lead testing strategy across complex integrated platforms
• Establish quality governance, reporting and release assurance
• Resolve systemic testing, tooling and pipeline challenges
• Partner with Engineering, DevOps and Product teams to embed quality throughout delivery
• Mentor QA Engineers and raise technical capability across the team
• Drive continuous improvement in testing standards, tooling and engineering practices

Salary / Rate & Location

• 6 Months (Likely Extensions)
• London (Hybrid)
