Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Administrator (Medical Consultants) based at North West Area Centre. This post is offered on a permanent basis.

Hours

14.59 hours per week worked: Tuesday 9am – 5pm; Wednesday 9am – 4.36pm.

What You Will Do

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Administrator (Medical Consultants) within our Mental Health, Alcohol Drugs & Learning Disability Service in East Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership based at North West Area Centre, Kilmarnock.

You will provide a confidential and comprehensive medical secretarial support service to the NHS Mental Health Teams within the Mental Health, Alcohol Drugs & Learning Disability Service.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide confidential medical secretarial support to Mental Health Teams.
  • Deal with non-routine issues such as problem solving for areas of work or developing alternative procedures.
  • Work unsupervised using own initiative and meet challenging timescales by organising and prioritising workload.
  • Adapt to change and last minute demands.

Qualifications

You should possess an HND in Business Administration OR equivalent demonstrable experience plus knowledge of specialist functional, medical, legal terms, organisational policies and procedures and experience dealing with non-routine issues.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages is required. Experience working in an NHS environment with understanding of NHS networks is desirable.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team.

Knowledge, Training and/or Experience Required for This Post

HND in Business Administration OR equivalent demonstrable experience.

In addition, NHS Ayrshire & Arran may be able to offer visa sponsorship for certain roles, provided the post meets the minimum salary threshold and any other required criteria. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case‑by‑case basis following interview and at the commencement of pre‑employment checks. The salary advertised is based on a full‑time contract and must be pro‑rated for part‑time positions.
