Desired Competencies:

  • Lead the design, development and deployment of advanced AI and machine learning solutions within the GenAI domain.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business challenges, opportunities and requirements for AI implementation.
  • Apply advanced data analysis, data mining and statistical modelling techniques to generate actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Develop, fine-tune and optimize machine learning models using suitable algorithms, frameworks and model evaluation approaches.
  • Work with senior leaders to define AI strategies, present findings and guide the integration of AI technologies into business operations.
  • Apply working knowledge of large language models, GPT-style systems and Transformer-based architectures to enhance NLP solutions.
  • Stay up to date with advances in AI, data science, NLP and GenAI, and translate relevant innovations into practical delivery opportunities.
  • Lead, mentor and guide data scientists, ensuring high-quality deliverables, sound engineering practices and continuous capability development.
  • Collaborate with external partners, academia and research institutions to remain aligned with emerging AI research and applications.

Essential skills/knowledge/experience

  • Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience implementing AI and machine learning solutions in real-world applications.
  • Strong programming capability in Python, R or Java, with experience using AI and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch or scikit-learn.
  • Strong understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, statistical modelling, model optimization and performance evaluation techniques.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of large language models, natural language processing and Transformer-based architecture.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including the ability to guide, mentor and inspire data science teams.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business objectives into AI strategies, roadmaps and actionable delivery plans.
  • Experience leading AI projects involving NLP, large language models and Transformer-based architectures.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform for scalable AI solution delivery.
  • Prior consulting experience or experience advising senior executives on AI strategy, adoption and operating model considerations.
