Role overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our team. You will play a crucial part in leveraging machine learning and advanced analytics to drive actionable insights and innovation at Sky.

What you’ll do

  • Develop advanced analytics methods such as predictive modelling, time series forecasting, text mining, clustering algorithms, etc., using appropriate tools and technologies (Python, R, SAS).
  • Analyse large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns in complex datasets.
  • Design experiments and build models that can help improve customer experience or optimise operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to understand their needs and develop relevant analytical solutions.
  • Create visualisations of results using Tableau or other software packages.
  • Monitor performance of models over time by tracking key metrics.
  • Present findings in a clear manner using reports or presentations.

Essential criteria

  • Hands‑on experience in building machine learning models, preferably in natural language processing and computer vision.
  • Experience in Python, SQL and common data‑science libraries (Pandas, Scikit‑Learn, TensorFlow, etc.).
  • Experience with big‑data pipelines and platforms such as BigQuery.
  • Strong knowledge of statistics, algorithms and data modelling.
  • Ability to derive actionable insights from analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, analytical mindset, ethics and bias awareness.

How you’ll work

We have adopted a hybrid working approach. The hybrid working expectations for this role are two days in the office per week, with the remainder of the work done remotely.

Your office base

Osterley – our Sky Group HQ. The campus is equipped with state‑of‑the‑art technology and workspaces, along with subsidised restaurants and cafés, a gym, a cinema and a beauty salon. It is a 10‑minute walk from Syon Lane train station or accessible via free shuttle bus from Osterley, Gunnersbury and Ealing Broadway. Free onsite parking is available for cars, motorbikes and bicycles.
