Role Overview
The organisation is expanding its AI engineering team to support the integration of Generative AI and Large Language Models into mission‑critical systems. This strategic hire plays a vital role in helping shape the future of AI‑enabled services for government and defence sectors. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise AI/ML solutions, focusing on Generative AI and Large Language Models
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design scalable, cloud‑native AI applications
- Implement AI techniques such as RAG, LangChain, and NLP for practical use cases
- Contribute to the deployment and operational management of AI tools within secure environments
- Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored AI solutions
- Stay abreast of emerging AI technologies and incorporate best practices into project work
- Proven software engineering experience, with expertise in Python
- Hands‑on experience with AI/GenAI/LLMs, including frameworks like HuggingFace or similar
- Strong understanding of AI/ML techniques, especially in natural language processing
- Familiarity with RAG, LangChain, and AI Agents is highly desirable
- Experience working within cloud‑native environments, particularly Kubernetes
- Must hold an active UK Security Clearance (SC is minimum; DV preferred)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and technical teams
- Demonstrated ability to autonomously manage tasks from conception through to deployment
- Experience with information retrieval/search techniques
- Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Go, Node.js, or React
- Background in defence, security, or public sector projects
- Prior involvement with Startups or Scale‑Ups within AI or tech sectors
