Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist (UGI) based at University Hospital Crosshouse. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
Hours
22.5 hours per week. From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full‑time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part‑time staff) without loss of earnings.
UK Driving Licence
A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What You Will Do
The Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) provides holistic care and support to patients and their families with upper gastrointestinal cancer. Specialist nursing advice and care is provided throughout the patient pathway (including diagnosis, surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and end of life) with the CNS acting as a key worker as well as a core member of the multidisciplinary team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse who seeks to further develop their skills, experience and career.
Knowledge, Training and/or Experience Required
The applicant will require substantial appropriate experience and should possess advanced communication skills and a passion for quality patient care. The CNS would be expected to either have or undertake a relevant Post‑Graduate Certificate.
