Position Overview

Part‑time (14.7 hours per week) Acute Secretary – Emergency Department and MAU based at Inverclyde Royal Hospital. Shift pattern Monday‑Friday (flexible).

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to consultant(s) and their team(s).
  • Act as a focal point for help and advice to staff, patients and professionals regarding service enquiries and coordinate the patient’s pathway.
  • Deliver professional administrative, secretarial and clerical services that support clinical staff in delivering high‑quality, efficient, patient‑centred care within acute services.
  • Provide specialised medical secretarial support for inpatient and outpatient clinical care.
  • Use initiative, resourcefulness, confidentiality, diplomacy and tact in all duties.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication of information in accordance with board/departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Sound understanding of board/departmental policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High degree of confidentiality, diplomacy and tact.
