Senior Cyber Security Consultant / Auditor

I’m working with a global fintech that exists for one purpose: helping small businesses not just survive, but actually thrive. They build tech that’s simple, fair, and accessible – the kind that lets someone go from “I have an idea” to “I run a business” without needing a finance degree or a tolerance for pain.
They’re now looking for a Senior Cyber Security Consultant / Auditor to help keep the organisation sharp, compliant, and ahead of regulatory expectations – especially across Europe, where the rulebook is long and the regulators don’t blink.
This is an individual‑contributor role reporting directly to the Global Head of Internal Audit, with regular exposure to the Board, Audit Committee, and senior stakeholders. If you want a role where your work actually matters – not one where your reports disappear into a SharePoint graveyard – this is it.
What you’ll actually do:
- Run regulatory, compliance, and operational audits across European markets
- Prepare audit reports that management will actually read, and present your findings without sugar‑coating
- Shape the internal audit framework – methodology, templates, planning, the whole toolkit
- Coordinate audit projects with teams across the business
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and encourage a culture where internal controls aren’t seen as optional
You’ll thrive here if you have:
- Audit experience in financial services – ideally payments or regulated fintech
- A background in security – not the “ex‑military guarding a warehouse” kind, but the kind where you’ve actually wrestled with Product Security, Application Security, secure SDLC, or the joys of trying to get engineers to fix vulnerabilities before the heat death of the universe
- Deep understanding of European regulation and internal control frameworks
- Comfort operating in large, international environments where priorities shift and ambiguity is normal
- Strong stakeholder management skills – you can challenge senior people without causing a diplomatic incident
- A curious, analytical mindset – you look beyond the numbers to what they actually mean
