Job title: Senior Process Engineer
Department: Supply Chain Manufacturing
Reporting to: Factory Continuous Improvement Manager
Education and Background
- Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering degree with FMCG manufacturing experience
- Experience in packaging technologies (mechanical, electrical, robotics)
- Knowledge of processing and product technology
Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing teams in eliminating losses and waste, including minor stoppage reduction, changeover time reduction, RPM waste elimination, line capability improvement, and variability reduction.
- Collaborate with the PD pillar to provide training to engineering technicians, focused technicians, and junior process engineers.
- Identify and resolve chronic problems, reduce NVAA, develop standards, and drive productivity while maintaining quality and safety.
- Lead coordination of digital activity deployment to ensure standardized technology implementation and benefit delivery.
- Act as technical trainer for line teams, coaching root cause analysis and establishment of countermeasures.
- Validate all process improvements and establish revised basic conditions on the line.
- Collaborate with Customer Service and Agility teams on OR (Foundation Tier) and site DBNR improvement.
- Identify and suggest automation solutions for loss reduction and participate in factory automation projects.
- Develop and implement large, complex projects: loss elimination, systematic centerlining, process control strategy, early equipment/product failure‑mode front‑loading.
- Coach and mentor Process Engineers and manufacturing cell teams; embed Plan‑Do‑Check‑Act cycles.
- Oversee team responsibilities and ensure continuous delivery of objectives in the absence of the Continuous Improvement Manager.
Key Deliverables
- Eliminate waste and loss through ICMS prioritization using BPCD, FI, AM, PM, Q, PD tools; deliver hard savings.
- Create technical standards to ensure process stability.
- Run‑to‑Standard (R2S) implementation: data collection/analysis, problem solving, SMED, AM activities definition, machine settings (centerlines or process parameters).
- Upskill/reskill line crews and Process Engineers on technical standards and basic condition restoration.
- Identify and extend good practices to other lines.
- Provide inputs for EEM pillar—MP data.
- Improve Factory OR and DBNR.
- Reduce NVAA.
- Apply MMP Code and Waste Playbook accurately.
Key Skills and Competencies
- 5+ years in FMCG manufacturing.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred mechanical or mechatronics).
- Business acumen and financial tools; understanding of master plan and factory priorities.
- Manufacturing & packaging technology knowledge.
- Engineering skills (mechanical, chemical, electrical, automation, etc.).
- Proficiency in technical drawings, CAD, 3D modelling.
- Analytical capability, data analytics, visualization, statistics, programming.
- Process design and manpower optimization skills.
- ICMS methods and tools mastery (FI, AM, PM, Q, EEM, SD).
- Project management, FMEA, critical path analysis.
- Bias for action; deliver near‑real‑time information for quick decisions.
