Senior Process Engineer
Department: Supply Chain Manufacturing
Reporting line: Factory Continuous Improvement Manager
Education and background: Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering degree with FMCG manufacturing background; packaging mechanical, electrical, robotics; processing – product technology knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Technical elimination of losses and waste on the production line (minor stoppage reduction, changeover time reduction, elimination of RPM waste, line capability improvement, variability reduction).
- Support digital related projects and other NVAA reduction activities.
- Collaborate with the PD pillar to provide training to engineering technicians, focused technicians, and junior process engineers.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to solve chronic problems, reduce NVAA, develop standards, and drive productivity while ensuring quality and safety.
- Act as technical trainer and coach to line teams in root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation.
- Validate all process improvements and establish revised basic conditions on the line.
- Coordinate deployment of digital activities across factories, ensuring standardized technology and benefit delivery.
- Identify and propose automation solutions for loss elimination or participate in factory automation projects.
- Oversee team responsibilities in the absence of the Continuous Improvement Manager, ensuring delivery of objectives.
- Develop and implement process control strategy and early equipment/product failure‑mode front‑loading.
Key Deliverables
- Eliminate waste and loss according to the ICMS prioritization process using BPCD, FI, AM, PM, Q, PD pillar tools and methodologies; deliver hard savings.
- Create technical standards to ensure process stability on the line.
- Implement Run to Standard (R2S): data collection and analysis, problem solving, SMED, AM activities definition, machine settings.
- Upskill/reskill line crews and process engineers on technical standards and restoration of basic conditions.
- Identify and extend good practice to other lines.
- Provide inputs of the EEM pillar – MP data.
- Improve factory OR and DBNR.
- Reduce NVAA.
- Apply and ensure accuracy of the MMP Code and Waste Playbook.
Key Skills and Competencies
- At least 5 years FMCG experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably mechanical or mechatronics).
- Business acumen and financial tools with understanding of the master plan and finance KPIs.
- Manufacturing & packaging technology knowledge.
- Strong engineering skills across mechanical, chemical, electrical, automation.
- Proficiency with technical drawings, 3‑D modelling, and related software.
- Analytical capability, data analytics, visualization, statistics, and programming for complex data analysis.
- Process design and manpower optimization, including NVAA reduction techniques.
- Mastery of the full set of ICMS methods and tools (FI, AM, PM, Q, EEM, PD).
- Project management, FMEA, and critical path analysis.
- Bias for action and ability to provide real‑time information for quick decisions.
