Help us create a better future, quicker

We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking manager to take ownership of Control and Monitoring Systems strategy across a large‑scale Transmission and Distribution network. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of digital energy infrastructure by leading a team of control systems engineers and asset management professionals, driving innovation, and influencing industry‑wide change.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will define and lead the strategic direction for control and monitoring assets, ensuring policies, standards, and practices align with wider asset management objectives. You will play a key role in embedding digital technologies and data‑driven insights into decision‑making, enhancing asset visibility, performance, and risk management while supporting the transition to a more flexible, decentralised, and low‑carbon energy system.

Working across policy, regulatory and investment planning functions, you will develop compelling long‑term strategies and lead the development of investment cases, ensuring the network remains resilient, efficient, and future‑ready. You will also act as a critical interface with regulatory bodies, representing the organisation in industry forums and shaping the evolution of control systems and network monitoring standards.

The position offers the chance to influence complex, high‑value decisions by developing robust asset risk and performance methodologies, defining asset management policies and strategies, supporting data‑led investment strategies, and ensuring compliance with key regulatory frameworks, including cyber security requirements. You will collaborate closely with operational, digitalisation, and cyber security teams to deliver integrated solutions, while maintaining strong relationships across the wider industry and government stakeholders.

What you’ll bring

As a manager, you will inspire and develop a high‑performing team, creating a clear sense of purpose and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. You will bring a strong blend of technical expertise in SCADA and control systems, strategic asset management and policy development experience, and the ability to translate complex challenges into clear policies and deliverable plans. Your commercial awareness and influencing skills will enable you to drive value, manage risk, and position the organisation at the forefront of digital network transformation.

As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we’ll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
