Position Overview
Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is seeking an Assistant Vice President Agency Transaction Manager to join its London-based Transaction Processing Unit. The role focuses on agency loan operations and managing complex syndicated loan portfolios, acting as a trusted point of contact for stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support and guidance to facilitate the accurate completion of daily transaction processing activities in accordance with head office rules and regulatory requirements.
- Verify the work of team members to ensure outputs meet stringent quality standards and regulatory obligations.
- Assist line management by controlling daily workflows, ensuring timely completion of all operational responsibilities within the department.
- Contribute to the creation, review, and maintenance of policies and procedures, ensuring they remain up‑to‑date and effective for agency transaction management.
- Offer general support for project implementation as required, collaborating with colleagues to deliver successful outcomes on time.
- Communicate effectively with Front Office teams, lenders, external legal counsel, and borrowers to administer loan portfolio events efficiently.
- Act as the primary point of contact for resolving issues and escalating concerns when necessary.
- Build strong working relationships across MUFG by establishing a peer network that supports information gathering and effective inter‑departmental collaboration.
- Operate as a product specialist, providing subject‑matter expertise on agency loan transactions as required.
- Maintain front‑to‑back oversight of amendments, waivers, covenant tracking (including ESG), security trustee responsibilities, collateral monitoring, and borrowing base maintenance.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in manual operations environments where attention to detail is paramount under time‑sensitive conditions.
- Proven background in syndicated or agency loan operations with hands‑on exposure to complex transaction processing requirements.
- Track record of facilitating calls and meetings with external legal counsel, borrowers, and lenders while delivering excellent client service.
- Strong computer literacy skills, including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with LMA and LSTA loan documentation standards is essential.
- Level or equivalent education required; bachelor’s degree is viewed favorably.
- Working knowledge of Debtdomain and LoanIQ platforms is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication skills combined with an empathetic approach that fosters trust among colleagues and clients.
- Ability to operate calmly under pressure and manage large workloads without compromising accuracy.
- Proactive mindset with sound judgement skills enabling effective risk identification and escalation when necessary.
