We have a rare opportunity for a PR Account Director to join our fabulous energy team in Aberdeen.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious team player with a passion for the energy industry who wants to play an active part in our continued success. That means delivering best-in-class work to existing clients, securing and progressing new business opportunities and championing team development.

As a senior member of the Aberdeen team, you’ll be involved in team resourcing and planning, mentoring and line management.

The correct skillset and experience are crucial.   • Have a strong track record within a PR agency. Ideally, you will have at least three years’ experience at a senior level.
  • Have a proven ability to successfully apply strategic thinking to PR campaigns
  • A cool, calm head with wise counsel in crisis situations
  • Are experienced in emergency response
  • Can cut through complex topics to develop effective and creative communications.
  • Want to help manage, develop and inspire team members, creating and sustaining a high-performance team.
  • Have an appetite for innovation matched by a good sense of how to promote change.
  • Boast strong interpersonal skills and are a credible operator at senior level, able to project, listen and influence.
  • Are adept at working for clients as part of a multi‑disciplinary project team
  • Have a passion for the energy industry

The Job

This role is full-time on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for the strategy, oversight, and relationships for some of the agency’s most high‑profile and longstanding clients.

‘Must have’ experience, includes:

  • Strategic leadership of client accounts, providing senior counsel and taking responsibility for team delivery.
  • Writing and presenting fully integrated communications strategies, in collaboration with relevant colleagues, underpinned by insight and research.
  • Translating agreed strategy into comprehensive implementation plans backed up by rigorous evaluation metrics and client reporting.
  • Leading on large value tenders and new business pitches, identifying opportunities to cross‑sell.
  • Championing industry best practice and promoting BIG’s expertise.
  • Ability to support, mentor and line manage a team
