Administrator / Meet and Greet Volunteer

To be the first point of contact for families at our centres, providing administrative support and helping ensure the smooth running of the service.

  • Selections Family Centre, Hertford, SG14 2DG
  • De Havilland Family Centre, Hatfield, AL10 8TQ

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and help with initial queries
  • Encourage new users to register with the service
  • Support admin tasks such as data entry, filing, and resource preparation
  • Ensure the reception area is welcoming and well‑organised

Skills, Abilities, Experience and Qualities

  • Computer literate, telephone and listening skills, basic IT and organisational skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Friendly and professional manner
  • Training and support (induction, safeguarding, expenses, regular supervision and feedback; frequency of 1:2:1 support)
  • A full induction to the service and specific site will be provided
  • Requirement to undertake One YMCA online training courses
  • Understand and implement One YMCA’s policies
  • Ongoing support and regular 1:1 meetings
  • Access to organisational events throughout the year including socials, conferences and training opportunities

Additional Information (DBS, policies, language, medical check, provide own equipment)

  • Undergo enhanced DBS check
  • Undertake additional training as and when required
  • We offer to pay volunteers’ out of pocket expenses within agreed guidelines
