Responsibilities

The Projects & Programmes team is looking for someone to manage a variety of projects that will benefit our borough. You will be responsible for turning ideas into finished solutions, working with colleagues from the Parks Development and the Parks Operations teams, leading on projects of varying sizes with a focus on both leisure and green spaces. Day‑to‑day work will include site visits and meetings across Hackney and beyond, planning and delivering projects within statutory, legal and procurement frameworks, managing complex budgets (including internal and external funding sources) and demonstrating a sound understanding of contract and financial management.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role you should have strong problem‑solving and organisational skills, sound judgement, and outstanding interpersonal skills. You should be able to engage a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, and be adept at motivating contractors and collaborating with fellow officers. A good understanding of Planning, Procurement and Construction, experience on capital projects and physical builds, and a Project Management qualification are desirable. Experience in a Leisure or Green Spaces environment will be an advantage.
