Location: This role will initially be based in Bradford but we’re moving our office to Leeds Valley Park in summer 2026, so you’ll be based there in the future – Hybrid Working (1‑2 days in the office a week – Bradford/Leeds).

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Regulatory Project Manager to join the Finance directorate at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

Where you fit in

As our Regulatory Project Manager, you will:

  • Create and execute project work plans, revising as necessary to meet changing requirements.
  • Prepare high-level business cases, recognising costs and benefits to support project sponsors.
  • Manage resources in collaboration with functional managers, sponsors, and sub‑contractors.
  • Lead, scope, and manage projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Produce high-quality reports on ROI, risk, business case, and implementation plans.
  • Promote new ideas and drive project opportunities through collaboration with partners, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Manage stakeholders and ensure effective communication plans are in place.
  • Represent the organisation with regulators, coordinate regulatory submissions, and provide regulatory analysis and support.

What skills & qualifications you will need

  • Experience managing projects across the full lifecycle, from planning through to delivery.
  • A recognised project management qualification, such as PRINCE2, APM, or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and driving high performance.
  • Experience in business planning, resource management, and budget control.
  • The ability to think strategically and deliver plans that achieve business objectives.
  • Experience leading change, influencing stakeholders, and embedding positive behaviours.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret, communicate, and present information effectively at all levels.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with the confidence to influence and collaborate across the organisation.

You will also benefit from having

  • Knowledge of the Regulatory framework and legislation relevant to the Water Industry.
  • Previous experience gained within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors.
  • Experience in a commercially orientated environment, in strategic leadership and / or an operational role.
  • Experience of enabling and embedding change, able to influence and drive right culture and behaviours.
