Role Overview
Banking & Payments Operations Analyst supporting the Payments team with day‑to‑day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day‑to‑day payments initiatives, including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution.
- Monitor banks’ payment operations to ensure efficient, effective compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with teams across the bank to align and integrate payments processes.
- Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for process change.
- Develop and implement payments procedures and controls to mitigate risk and maintain operational efficiency.
- Develop reports and presentations on payments performance and communicate findings to senior internal stakeholders.
- Stay current with industry trends and implement best practice in payments services.
- Participate in projects and initiatives to improve payments efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead or support a team, allocating work, guiding professional development, and coordinating resources (if applicable).
- Take responsibility for the end results of operational processing and activities.
- Escalate breaches of policies or procedures appropriately.
- Embed new policies or procedures adopted for risk mitigation.
- Advise and influence decision making within your area of expertise.
- Own risk and strengthen controls related to the work you own or contribute to.
- Deliver work in line with relevant rules, regulations and codes of conduct.
- Maintain and build an understanding of how your sub‑function integrates with the broader function.
Qualifications
- Accurate data‑input skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Previous office experience.
- Banking or payment experience (highly valued).
- Attention to detail.
- Team‑working ability.
- In‑depth technical knowledge in the assigned area of expertise.
