Ticketing Manager | Professional Football
Sporting Jobs are exclusively partnering with a leading professional football club to recruit a Ticketing Manager.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced ticketing professional to lead one of the club’s most important commercial functions, overseeing the complete ticketing operation across league fixtures, cup competitions, women’s football and major stadium events.
Sporting Jobs has built a reputation for delivering executive search and recruitment solutions across the global sports industry, partnering with clubs, governing bodies, rightsholders and brands to appoint outstanding talent. We’re delighted to be managing the search for this key appointment, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to influence supporter experience, maximise commercial performance and help shape the future of an ambitious football club.
Ticketing has evolved far beyond simply selling seats. Today’s leading clubs use ticketing to drive supporter engagement, generate valuable customer insight and maximise revenue across multiple products and experiences. This role sits at the heart of that strategy.
We’re looking for someone who understands both the commercial and operational side of ticketing. Someone who can think strategically, lead a high-performing team and continually improve the supporter journey while ensuring every fixture and event is delivered seamlessly.
Reporting into the senior commercial leadership team, you’ll take ownership of the club’s entire ticketing operation, leading strategy, systems, pricing, sales performance and matchday delivery.
The Role
As Ticketing Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing and delivering a best-in-class ticketing operation that supports both the club’s commercial objectives and its commitment to providing an outstanding supporter experience.
You’ll lead a dedicated ticketing team while working closely with colleagues across commercial, marketing, digital, finance, stadium operations and fan engagement to ensure ticketing remains fully integrated across the wider business.
The role offers an excellent balance between strategic leadership and operational delivery. From developing pricing strategies and managing season ticket renewals to overseeing ticketing systems and ensuring matchday readiness, you’ll play a key role in driving both revenue and operational excellence.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys analysing data, improving processes and leading innovation within one of football’s fastest evolving commercial departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the club’s overall ticketing strategy, ensuring it supports commercial growth and long-term supporter engagement.
- Manage all aspects of matchday and event ticketing across men’s, women’s and academy fixtures, as well as special events hosted at the stadium.
- Oversee ticket pricing, sales forecasting, yield management and season ticket campaigns.
- Lead and develop the Ticket Office team, creating a culture of excellent customer service and continuous improvement.
- Manage relationships with ticketing system providers, access control partners and external suppliers.
- Ensure ticketing systems remain efficient, secure and fully integrated with CRM, payment and access control platforms.
- Work closely with marketing teams to deliver ticket sales campaigns, memberships, group sales and promotional activity.
- Analyse ticket sales performance, supporter behaviour and market trends to identify opportunities for growth.
- Ensure compliance with all governing body regulations, data protection requirements and operational policies.
- Work alongside stadium operations and safety teams to ensure every fixture is delivered safely and efficiently.
- Identify opportunities to improve supporter experience through innovation, automation and digital ticketing solutions.
About You
You’ll already have experience leading a ticketing function within professional sport, live entertainment or another high-volume venue environment and understand the importance of balancing commercial success with exceptional customer service.
You’ll be a confident leader, comfortable managing people, analysing performance data and making strategic decisions that directly influence revenue and supporter satisfaction.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Proven experience managing ticketing operations within football, sport or live events.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of pricing strategy, forecasting and revenue generation.
- Experience managing ticketing systems, CRM platforms and digital ticketing solutions.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong analytical ability with experience interpreting sales data and customer behaviour.
- Outstanding organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management experience.
- A proactive approach to improving systems, processes and supporter experience.
- The ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
Experience with SeatGeek, Fortress Access Control or similar ticketing technologies would be advantageous, as would previous experience working within professional football.
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to lead one of the most commercially significant departments within a professional football club at an exciting stage of its development.
You’ll have genuine influence over ticketing strategy, supporter engagement and commercial performance while working alongside experienced leaders who are committed to innovation and continuous improvement.
