Commissioning management ensures all building services systems perform as designed before handing over to the client. Working with design, construction, installation, and FM teams from the start to hand‑over, we play a central role in delivering sustainable, resilient projects.

Job Description

As a Graduate Commissioning Manager you will support the commissioning process and contribute to on‑site functional testing under the guidance of Senior Commissioning Managers. You will provide invaluable support to the project team throughout the engineering process, from conception to completion, maintaining the highest standards of quality in planning, programming, reporting, collaborative working, witnessing, and handover to FM teams.

Responsibilities

  • Learning and Development: Learn the intricacies of commissioning processes, understand project deliverables such as plans, specifications and relevant industry standards, manage subcontractors, create programmes and track, manage and escalated project issues.
  • Programme Support and Mentorship: Receive continuous support from a dedicated buddy and mentor, who offers guidance to help you overcome challenges and foster professional development.
  • Project Planning & Coordination: Assist in planning meetings to understand commissioning schedules, milestones and resource requirements; coordinate activities with Cx managers, engineers, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain commissioning plans, procedures, documentation, and ensure accurate recording of tests, inspections and results. Prepare progress reports, flash reports and tracking documents for stakeholders.
  • System Testing & Issue Resolution: Participate in testing and verifying systems to ensure they meet design specifications and performance criteria; identify and resolve technical issues or discrepancies during commissioning.
  • Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure commissioning activities comply with quality standards, safety regulations and project requirements.
  • Training: Attend training sessions related to commissioning processes, H&S, systems and equipment and any further required training.
  • Problem Solving: Improve your understanding of project management, engineering processes and industry standards; contribute to initiatives that improve project delivery.
  • Client Interface: Develop effective communication skills to interface with clients during commissioning, addressing concerns or queries.
  • Project Handover: Assist in the smooth handover of commissioned systems to operations teams.

Qualifications

You will likely be a recent graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Energy Management/Engineering or Environmental Engineering. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, resourcefulness and calm under pressure are essential.
