As a Senior Electrical Engineer within Foreship UK, you will provide technical leadership in the engineering,integrationand verification of marine electrical and power systems across a wide range of vessel types. Your work will enhance vessel performance, ensure compliance with class and flag requirements, and support the delivery of technically robust,safeand efficient engineering solutions

Based out of our Southampton (HQ), Leatherhead, Chippenham or Manchester offices, Foreship UK operates a hybrid working model, though you will be required to travel or shipboard across the UK and internationally occasionally.

Responsibilities:

You will apply electrical engineeringexpertiseensuring that vessel electrical and power systems are designed,integratedand verified in a way that shipyards,clientsand onboard teams can useimmediately. You will take technical ownership of electrical deliverables across concept, basic and detailed design, ensuring that calculations, schematics, protection philosophies, loadanalysesand system integration decisions are compliant with class and flag requirements.

Lead the design,engineeringand integration of ship electrical and power systems across concept, basic and detailed design stages.

Verify system performance and compliance through calculations, modelling, review of vendorinformationand cross-discipline coordination.

Ensure adherence to class, flag and relevant standards while supporting technical submissions and approval processes.

Provide senior-level electrical engineering oversight duringnewbuild, retrofit and conversion projects, including system integration with machinery, automation,energyand sustainability technologies.

Contribute to project schedules, risk assessments, designreviewsand quality governance processes.

Support the development of electrical engineering capability within Foreship UK, including mentoring of less-experienced engineers and knowledge-sharing.

Engage with clients, shipyards, suppliers and regulatory stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolveissuesandmaintainstrong technical relationships.

Profile description:

Required Qualifications & Experience?

Degree in Electrical Engineering or Marine Electrical/Power Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

7+ yearsexperience in marine electrical systems, covering power generation, distribution, protection, automation and system integration across concept, basic and detailed design stages.

Proficiency?withelectrical engineeringtoolsets (e.g.,ETAP,MATLAB,?SIMULINK) and 2DCAD (AutoCAD).

Strong working knowledge of class and statutory frameworks.

Proven capability to verify andvalidateelectrical system performance, including calculations, modelling, review of vendordocumentationand compliance assessments.

Demonstrable consultancy andclient-facingskills; experience of coordinating multidisciplinary inputs.

Project delivery experience across newbuildand conversions.

Mentoring/coachingexperience and participation in industry bodies/technical forums.

You must be a British citizen or have the right to work in the UK without employer sponsorship.
