Working in the Technology department,the Technical Manager will report into the Group Headof Technology and Innovation, with responsibilityfor managing technology in NxGen Studio and Sky Creative. Theprimary purpose of the role is to innovate, develop, deliver andsupport best in class platforms for Design, Promotions and Campaignteams. The AWS Infrastructure Managerwill contribute to design and implementation of new solutions whiledeveloping existing platforms to meet requirements of design andpost production teams in Sky Creative. They will assess futuretechnology needs across the business. Delivering efficienciesthrough technical solutions, develop and maintain virtualised andon-premises infrastructure that supports post production andcreative production workflows while effectively managing budgets& timelines set by the Group Head of Technology, SeniorTechnical Managers and Technical Director within NxGen. Workingwith technology teams internally at Sky and external partners todeliver technology that works within the wider business and meetssecurity requirements.

What you’lldo:

  • Broadcastmotion graphics systems, including but not limited to VizRT,Foundry Nuke, Maxon C4D, Houdini, Pixel Power Clarity, UnrealEngine.

  • Research and testthe latest technology, continually evaluating workflows andsolutions in thebusiness.

  • Build, deploy andvirtualise desktop infrastructure (VDI), server and storage systems(Windows, Linux,VMware).

  • Develop systemmonitoring and ensure systems comply with Sky’s securitypolicy.

  • Develop VDI platformand integrate with internal systems at Sky and public cloud storageand compute service providers.

  • Systems automation todeploy infrastructure to optimise media productionworkflows.

  • Ownership ofproblem and change management process, working with internal andexternal technical and supportservices.

  • VDI BAU supportand Development.

  • Own supportprocedures,documentation.

  • Find, Track,Document BugFixes.

  • Non-linear editingsystems design, development and productionworkflows

  • Research and testthe latest technology, continually evaluating workflows andsolutions in thebusiness.

  • Key point ofcontact for escalation for supportincidents

  • Manage andmaintain current technologystacks.

  • Scoping SCtechnology requirements and objectives to drive forward the successof the department and fit with the widerbusiness.

  • Collaborating withmembers across the EU hub, exploring efficiencies and sharing newtechnologyadvancements.

  • Management ofSSL/ TLS Certificates used to secure multiplesystems.

EssentialCriteria:

  • Highlevel knowledge of Amazon Web Serviceplatform and associatedservices.

  • Professionalknowledge and experience of Hypervisor and VDI platforms (egVsphere, Azure, Horizon,etc)

  • Professional knowledgeand experience of a range of creative software tools including butnot limited to Adobe creative suite, Maxon software packages,Foundry Nuke, VizRT.

  • Professional knowledgeand experience of a range of creative workflows and workingpractices.

  • Experienced ininfrastructure design, project management and projectdelivery.

  • Proven workingexperience in Broadcast or Post-Production technicalrole.

  • Proven workingexperience in Broadcast MAM technicalrole.

Desirableskills andexperience:

  • Excellentcommunication skills with an ability demonstrate clear and concisetechnical information with colleagues and non-technicalstakeholders.

  • Experience ofsystems engineering, administration and automation, preferablywithin the Media and Entertainmentindustry.

  • High levelknowledge of TCP/IP networking, security and core technologies(such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, Routing,VPN).

  • High level knowledgeof computer Operatingsystems.

  • High levelknowledge of a range of computerHardware.
