Position Overview
The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre (BWoSCC) provides specialist oncology services to 60% of the Scottish population. We accept Full Time appointments, with salaries pro‑rata for part‑time hours.
Responsibilities
Clinical Commitments
Provide clinical oncology input for Melanoma and Upper GI cancer services. Work with local and regional MDTs, collaborate with existing Consultant Clinical and Medical Oncologists, and manage cross‑cover for clinics as part of the team.
Teaching, Management, Research and Audits
Supervise trainees clinically, participate in clinical trial recruitment, and contribute to a strong postgraduate education programme. Support and lead research projects, aid the Clinical Trials Unit, and produce high‑impact publications.
Lead or contribute to audits, quality improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Teaching and Supervision
Provide clinical supervision of trainees and take part in the teaching programme, including lectures and seminars held in departmental lecture rooms.
Research
Engage in clinical research, contribute to local, national and international trials, and support the recruitment of patients to these studies. Work with the Clinical Trials Unit on study design, data collection and publication of results.
