Job Overview

Surrey & Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, a General Medical Council (GMC) sponsor employer, is looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our adult inpatient service at our newest purpose built hospital, located within our Orion Ward at Silverwood. The post‑holder will deliver consultant psychiatric input to inpatients admitted to the ward per the agreed Acute Service Operational Policy. The role also involves providing clinical leadership and being actively involved in service improvement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultant psychiatric input to inpatients admitted to the ward as per the Acute Service Operational Policy.
  • Deliver clinical leadership and collaborate with colleagues from other professional disciplines.
  • Engage in service improvement activities, audit, quality improvement and research interests.
  • Liaise with general and specialist teams operating in Surrey to ensure effective handover of care when patients transfer between teams.
  • Participate in the Surrey‑wide WAA consultant on‑call rota (approximately 1:30).

Qualifications

GMC registered consultant psychiatrist.

  • Salary: NHS Consultant Grade £113,565 – £150,569 + £149 fringe, plus on‑call payments.
