Permanent

Salary:Zone 4 £74,958 – £78,793 per annum

Wouldyou like to lead the Council on a wide range of public protection matters? Asour new Head of Public Protection, you will lead three teams, focussing on awide range of statutory responsibilities including, environmental health andlicensing, private sector housing, community safety, public realm CCTV,emergency planning and business continuity. You will also take full responsibilityfor the Council’s corporate approach to health and safety, risk management andinsurance, ensuring full up-to-date communications on key national and localdevelopments within these key areas, whilst using your knowledge and learningto deliver service improvements in line with the Authority’s Community Plan.

Withdemonstrable experience in resource management, in providing direction andstrong people management skills, you will have a background and knowledge inEnvironmental Health and/or Public Protection at a senior level. You willdeliver against strategic and operational requirements including servicespecific projects funded both internally and externally.

Youwill hold a level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline or have significantdemonstrable experience in a relevant area along with a full driving licenceand access to a reliable vehicle.

Thispost is “politically restricted” as defined in Section 2(1)(d) of the1989 Local Government and Housing Act and requires Level 3 Police Vetting.
