Software Engineering Manager

Engineering Manager | £55k – £70k | Ulverston, Cumbria | Hybrid

This isn’t a Lead Developer role.

You won’t be expected to be the strongest coder in the team or the technical architect.

Instead, you’ll be leading an established software engineering team, keeping delivery moving, developing people and making sure good ideas actually make it into production.

You’ll be

• Managing and mentoring a team of Software Engineers
• Running stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives
• Owning delivery and removing blockers
• Working closely with Product and senior leadership
• Coordinating software releases
• Helping improve engineering practices and delivery

What you’ll need

• Experience managing software engineers
• Strong technical understanding (you need to be able to get the respect of Developers)
• Experience delivering software in an Agile environment
• Comfortable coaching, challenging and supporting developers
• An interest in using AI to improve engineering productivity
