Job Overview
The IT Project Tech Lead is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within their field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in their job and the business. They act as a recognised technical authority for an area within the business, providing advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. This role requires basic commercial awareness, strong communication and diplomacy skills, and the ability to guide, influence and influence others including colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. The work impacts an entire area, influencing overall performance and effectiveness of the sub‑function or job family.
What you’ll do
- Develop and coordinate the execution of detailed IT work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.
- Interface with senior project staff and client senior management teams regarding project status.
- Recommend and oversee process improvements.
- Assess complex business processes, system processes and industry standards to create significant business impact.
- Provide expertise and advanced understanding of IT project leadership principles.
- Understand how own area and other areas (e.g., architecture or infrastructure) integrate to achieve business objectives.
- Influence strategic functional decisions through advice, counsel or services.
- Act as advisor or coach to new or lower‑level analysts and allocate work.
- Deliver in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Use comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to persuade and influence others.
- Assess risk when business decisions are made, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, protecting the firm’s reputation and safeguarding assets.
What we’ll need from you
- Experience in a related technology role and subject matter expert in the overall field.
- Multi‑year experience with the implementation of regulatory‑driven requirements related to Market Risk and Regulatory capital (e.g., FRTB, MiFID, Dodd‑Frank, BCBS).
- Demonstrable experience executing delivery of diverse portfolios of complex and multi‑faceted technology changes.
- Proven effectiveness in managing software delivery and strong use of project and programme tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft suite.
- Experience and proven ability in senior executive management engagement, relationship building and reporting.
- Track record of adoption and use of AI tooling is advantageous.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree, university degree or equivalent experience, potentially a Master’s degree.
