An opportunity has arisen within the Dental Division to develop a specialist post within Community Dental Services, focusing on the Special Care Dentistry pathway. The role involves providing specialist dental care to patients with additional needs due to disability, medical or mental health problems, while also undertaking leadership and management responsibilities delegated by the Head of Service.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist level dental care for adults referred to the SCD service.
- Work independently to deliver specialist services to the local population.
- Provide clinical supervision and appraisal of several dental officer(s).
- Attend service‑led committee meetings and contribute to service development and improvement plans.
- Manage line‑management activities and participate in team job planning.
Location
The Birmingham Dental Hospital is located at 5 Mill Pool Way, Birmingham, B5 7EG. It is an undergraduate and postgraduate dental teaching hospital affiliated with the School of Dentistry of the University of Birmingham. The hospital provides an outpatient and day‑case service with approximately 130,000 patient attendances per annum.
