Solicitor Grade C Medical Products Team
Location: Liverpool/Hybrid
Hybrid working available: with the flexibility to work from home and collaborate in-office when needed.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the progression of individual client files and manage a caseload of Medical Product Liability cases from inception to trial.
- Provide support and guidance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients.
- Contribute to proactive commercial case management and progression across the team.
- Support the Team Leader/Head of Department in achieving the team’s financial and performance KPIs.
- Maintain effective and thorough time recording and manage the Master Spreadsheet.
- Discuss and agree case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members.
- Collect and collate relevant information to enable case progression.
- Co‑ordinate case progression with internal and external parties.
- Draft documentation (Claim Forms, Application Notices, draft Orders, Letters of Notification, Letters of Claim, Letters of Instruction to experts, and Instructions to counsel).
- Assist with issuing and service of proceedings if required.
- Assist with pre and post‑issue tasks as directed.
- Oversee documentation and correspondence produced by the team.
- Maintain SharePoint and organise documents.
- Advise the team on technical issues with support from Team Leader/Head of Department.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Recent experience handling a caseload.
- National Qualification – 5 years post‑qualification experience or equivalent in Clinical Negligence.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
- Excellent communication and drafting abilities.
- Proficient IT skills, especially Microsoft Office, Proclaim, and Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment.
- Ability to coach and mentor junior team members.
- Flexible and willing to meet deadlines and achieve results.
- Excellent client‑care skills.
