TKMS ATLAS UK is looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to drive the design and integration of electrical systems across our advanced sonar, submarine, and autonomous technology programmes. What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems for complex maritime products
- Define architectures, select components, and ensure safety and EMC compliance
- Produce and review schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable assemblies
- Support integration, testing, and commissioning activities
- Conduct design reviews and maintain documentation accuracy
- Coach and mentor junior engineers to grow team capability
- Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and multidisciplinary teams
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
- Strong knowledge of electrical system design, including power distribution and control systems
- Experience with CAD tools and CE/UKCA directives
- Familiarity with EMC, electrical safety, and industry standards
- System‑level integration and debugging experience
- PLCs, motor control, or automation knowledge (desirable)
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and leadership skills
