Designer Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to join our project delivery team on a live high-voltage site based out of Norwich.

The Role
This is a key site-based leadership role, suited to someone who has delivered electrical works in live, high-risk or HV environments and understands the importance of safety, coordination, communication and programme control. The Electrical Site Manager will take immediate ownership of day-to-day site delivery, working closely with project management, engineering, commercial, quality, safety, subcontractors and client-side teams.
Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day electrical site activities
- Leading site teams and subcontractors to deliver against programme
- Planning labour, materials, plant and site resources
- Coordinating electrical packages and interfaces with other disciplines
- Ensuring all works are delivered safely and in line with site procedures
- Maintaining high standards of quality, productivity and workmanship
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, RAMS and project documentation
- Supporting project planning, progress reporting and short-term lookaheads
- Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, QS, QA/QC and EHS teams
- Driving progress against programme and resolving site issues quicklySupporting commissioning, handover and close-out activities
- Promoting a strong safety culture across the site
Requirements
- Strong electrical site management experience, ideally within M&E contracting, HV, energy, utilities, industrial, pharmaceutical, infrastructure or mission‑critical environments.
- SSSTS / SMSTS or equivalent site management qualification.
- Previous experience as an Electrical Site Manager, Electrical Supervisor or Electrical Construction Manager.
- Experience working on live electrical sites, ideally including HV environments.
- Strong understanding of electrical installation, sequencing and site coordination.
- Ability to lead teams and subcontractors in a fast‑paced project environment.
- Strong safety awareness and experience working under strict site controls.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and technical documents.
- Good planning, reporting and communication skills.
- Experience managing labour, materials, plant and work fronts.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to make decisions on site.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver to programme deadlines.
Preferred Background
- Trade background or relevant electrical qualification.
- Experience with a large M&E contractor.
- HV, substation, energy, power, utilities or live infrastructure project experience.
- First Aid, ECS / CSCS or relevant site cards.
- Experience supporting commissioning and handover.
