Role Description

The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. This full-time, on-site role is based in Rowlands Castle and involves managing subcontractors, coordinating site activities, and maintaining clear communication with project managers, clients, and the wider project team. The Site Manager will monitor progress against programme, manage site resources and logistics, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The role also includes conducting site inspections, resolving issues promptly, maintaining accurate records and reports, and supporting a collaborative, solutions-driven culture on site.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in site management or a similar construction supervisory role, ideally within commercial or residential projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, building regulations, and health and safety standards (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS card or equivalent).
  • Ability to coordinate subcontractors, manage schedules, and oversee site logistics to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting drawings and specifications, and in using basic project management and reporting tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proactive, solutions-focused approach to managing site issues.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality, with a track record of delivering projects to high standards.
  • Relevant construction-related qualification (e.g., NVQ, HNC/HND, degree in Construction Management or related field) preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to work across sites in the South of England as required.
